Look, I know that sometimes I can be a bit slow on the uptake; a little thick-headed if you know what I mean. That’s why I’m wondering if you can help me with something.
You see, I really need help to understand how, considering the massively shitty condition our nation is in, you could possibly be considering voting for either of the two incompetent asshats now enshrined by the “major” parties as presidential candidates.
I mean, WTF? Do you actually believe that either one of them is fit to be permitted unsupervised in-home visits, much less to lead the most powerful nation in the free world? Have you been f**king asleep for the past fifteen years?
OK, let’s try this:
I want you to think really, really hard, and then make a list of all the major issues where there is a substantive difference in the positions of Mr. Tweedle-dee and Mr. Tweedle-dum. Go ahead, I’ll wait while you dig out the smallest-sized post-it note they make, because that will be more than large enough.
Having trouble? Let me help you then… Support for the bailouts, TARP, socialized medicine, allowing the Fed to impose a hidden tax on your income by printing more money and sending it to foreign countries at little or no interest? Not one iota of difference, nada!
Support for allowing the President to create a hit list and summarily execute any American he desires with no trial? Check!
Support for allowing the military to arrest and indefinitely detain any American citizen, inside or out of the U.S., without charges or the basic right of habeas corpus? Check!
Support for warrantless searches and wiretaps, and no-knock warrants? Check and checkmate!
(In case you are missing the point here, each of the last three items is expressly forbidden by our Constitution – you know, the “supreme law of the land” – and was a reason our ancestors sacrificed everything to fight the Revolutionary F**king War!)
Both candidates, in their limited experiences as a government executive, also presided over high unemployment and an outflow of jobs, not to mention the institution of government-run, compulsory participation, health care.
And don’t give me that lesser of two evils, my candidate is not great but not as bad as the other candidate bullshit. That is precisely the kind of thinking, or more correctly lack thereof, that got us in this goddamn mess in the first place. Listen up! It does not matter if you drive off a cliff at 85 mph or 65 mph…the final results aren’t going to be noticeably different.
When, oh when, will things finally get bad enough for you to try something different? Do we need a full-on civil war or concentration camps in every city before you finally pause and accept that doing the same thing over and over just isn’t working?
As for each of the last nine presidential elections, there is a real choice; a choice that if made could and would change the course of our nation and revitalize the Republic. All that is required is for roughly 40% of you to drop the blinders and love America enough to realize that the only route to change is, quite frankly, the courage to change. If nothing else for Christ’s sake, at least Google “Gary Johnson”.
Face it, you could have avoided all this police-state bullshit, all this unemployment and off-shoring and debt so high your grandchildren have no chance in hell of ever paying it off, not to mention the crumbling up and trashing of our beloved Constitution, if you had simply elected Harry Browne in 1996 and 2000. But no, you knew better. You were too damned smart and too damned good to vote Libertarian. Well look what you have now. Great f**king job America.
